Let’s Get It Started: Eno/Byrne
“Everything That Happens Will Happen Today”

While we gear up for the first “proper” entry on this new music sampling/review blog, here's a player that will let you stream the brand new (at this writing) Brian Eno/David Byrne CD in its entirety.

I find the effort very uneven, with a few tracks that work and most that just sound like Byrne imposing himself over Eno's closet leftovers (which is, principally, what this is). It does kind of follow-on from Eno's last release, Another Day on Earth, but strangely I don't find this to blend particularly well except in spots. Strange because these two created three of the greatest and most daring pop albums ever: Fear of Music and Remain in Light as part of the Talking Heads (who are sorely missed on this effort!) and My Life in the Bush of Ghosts as a duo.

Still, it's Brian Eno and David Byrne; their worst efforts are better than most people's best. Certainly it's worth listening to, so have a listen -- and leave a comment.
